Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Stoke City

There is a top football league called Premier League in England, one of Europe’s big five football leagues, and many successful and world-famous football clubs compete in this major sporting event, such as Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City.

Located in Tottenham, London, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly known as Tottenham or Spurs, is a powerful club that plays home games at Wembley Stadium(the former one is White Hart Lane) from the 2017-18 season. The club adheres to the motto “Audere est Facere(To dare is to do)”. It is nicknamed “The Lilywhites” by million of fans due to traditional white home jerseys. Tottenham’s sworn enemy is Arsenal and the match between the two clubs is called the North London derby.

In terms of trophies, Tottenham won the FA Cup for the first time in 1901 and won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1963. In addition, it got the title of UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first English club to win the competition. Tottenham also won seven FA Community Shields.

Stoke City is also a professional football club competing in the Premier League. Founded in 1863, it is the second-oldest club in the world and a founding member of the Football League. In the 1971-72 season, the club won English Football League Cup. Its home stadium is the bet365 Stadium with a capacity of 30,089 spectators. The former name the Britannia Stadium was changed on 1 June 2016 because the club entered into a new stadium-naming rights agreement with its parent company, bet365.

A game between Tottenham and Stoke City was held on 7 April 2018, and Tottenham won the game successfully. Therefore, Tottenham has won six successive games of Premier League in the 2017-18 season by now.

Tottenham’s players performed and cooperated well in this game, including Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Victor Wanyama, Moussa Dembele and so on. Stoke City’s players included Xherdan Shaqiri, Mame Diouf, Joe Allen, Ryan Shawcross and so on.

Eriksen scored a goal in the 52nd minute with the aid of Alli and Dembele. Then he scored another goal in the 63rd minute.

Before playing for Tottenham Hotspur, Eriksen played for Ajax and helped the club win three titles of Eredivisie, win one KNVB Cup and Johan Cruijff Schaal. In 2010, he was called up to play games for Denmark national team and appeared in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, becoming the youngest player in this World Cup. In 2011, Eriksen was awarded Danish Football Player of the Year, Dutch Football Talent of the Year and Ajax Talent of the Year (Marco van Basten Award). Besides, his excellent performance earned him the awards including Tottenham Hotspur Player of the Year in the 2013-14 season, Danish Football Player of the Year in 2015.

In his free time, Eriksen liked staying at home to play games but he didn’t play when he made a girlfriend. He will become a father because his wife is pregnant. Now he has become a man with successful professional career and happy family.
